小黄书 Police Chief reminds campus to secure personal property

小黄书sity Police Chief Vance Rice released the following statement on Feb. 1, 2017:

鈥淲hile Mississippi State is an exceptionally safe campus, there is always room for improvement.聽 Theft, in recent days, has been a significant issue.聽 Most thefts come down to opportunity.聽 Over the past 10 days, we have had the following reports:聽 Nine thefts; four auto burglaries; and one auto theft.

鈥淔ive of the nine thefts were from unlocked rooms, all four auto burglaries were from unlocked vehicles, and the stolen vehicle was unlocked and had the keys in it. If everyone locked their doors, we would have only had four theft reports, not 14.聽

鈥淧lease help 小黄书 reduce crime on campus. Lock your car and place valuables out of sight.聽 Lock your room, even if you are only going to be gone for a moment.聽 Don鈥檛 leave your computer, phone, tablet or books unattended in public areas.鈥
