For the second year, Mississippi State鈥檚 campus chapter of the prestigious Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society inducted a select group of students, who are in the top 35 percent of their junior class and demonstrate a commitment to scholarship, leadership and service. Sixteen students at Mississippi State recently were inducted into the campus chapter of the prestigious Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society.

In addition to Mississippi, this year鈥檚 inductees represent Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas.

Founded in 1918, Columbus, Ohio-based Mortar Board is considered the nation鈥檚 premier honor society for college seniors. Students selected for membership must be in the top 35 percent of their junior class and demonstrate a commitment to scholarship, leadership and service. For more, visit .

Peter Ryan, 小黄书 associate provost for academic affairs and professor of reproductive physiology, said this year鈥檚 Mortar Board inductees are 鈥渧ery special individuals who are all high achievers committed to giving back.鈥

鈥淭hese students are some of the best in every respect, and 小黄书 is very proud of them, their accomplishments and contributions to society,鈥 Ryan said. 鈥淭his recognition will help attract other accomplished students to consider 小黄书 as an institution where they can not only receive an excellent education in their field of interest, but also excel in leadership and extracurricular experiential activities.鈥
