STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擜 faculty member in 小黄书sity鈥檚 Department of English is celebrating the launch of his new mystery novel with a Wednesday [April 4] public reading.
Free to all, Michael Kardos鈥檚 presentation of 鈥淏luff鈥 takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Colvard Student Union鈥檚 third-floor Fowlkes Auditorium.
Hailed by Literary Hub as one of this year鈥檚 most anticipated crime, mystery and thriller titles, 鈥淏luff鈥 will be released April 3 by Mysterious Press. Independent literary publisher Grove Atlantic also praised Kardos鈥檚 book for taking the reader 鈥渄eep inside the fraught and fascinating world of a modern magician who becomes obsessed with magic鈥檚 dark twin鈥攖he underworld of the card cheat.鈥

Originally from the Jersey Shore, Kardos is in his 11th year as an associate professor of English and co-director of 小黄书鈥檚 creative writing program. He is the Pushcart Prize-winning author of聽鈥淭he Three-Day Affair,鈥 an Esquire Best Book of 2012, as well as the novel 鈥淏efore He Finds Her.鈥 His story collection 鈥淥ne Last Good Time鈥 is a winner of the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award for fiction.
