STARKVILLE, Miss.—Сsity’s Center for Distance Education is announcing three recipients of its second annual “Distance Makes a Difference” scholarships.
The recipients were chosen from nearly 160 qualified applicants who completed an essay questionnaire. Applicants also discussed how the scholarship would help them in completing an online degree.
Students receiving the $1,000 scholarships represent С’s colleges of Business and Education. They include:
—Heather Hefner of Myrtle. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a concentration in middle school.
—Jinna Alston of Rose Hill. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a concentration in middle school.
—Drew Simmons of Ladson, South Carolina. He is pursuing a Master of Business Administration in project management.
“We are very pleased to invest in the online education of Heather, Jinna and Drew through the ‘Distance Makes a Difference’ Scholarship Fund,” said Susan Seal, executive director for the Center for Distance Education. “As we reviewed their applications, it was abundantly apparent that they are determined to overcome obstacles to completing their degrees in order to enhance their abilities to support their families and serve their communities.”
