'Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit' to give acoustic show at 小黄书 Riley Center April 11
MERIDIAN, MS鈥擡xpect heartache, healing and hope, as well as breathtaking moments of musical beauty, as the 小黄书 Riley Center presents "An Acoustic Evening with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit" on Thursday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m.
The band鈥檚 latest album, 鈥淭he Nashville Sound,鈥 won Grammy Awards for best Americana album and best American roots song (鈥淚f We Were Vampires鈥). If they gave out Grammys for emotional intensity, honesty and wry humor, Isbell and the 400 Unit would have swept those, too.
Isbell, a native of Green Hill, Alabama, became a star as a member of Drive-By Truckers. After years of personal troubles, he has found peace and joy with his wife and frequent vocal duet partner, violinist Amanda Shires, and their young daughter. His songs look back on the travails of the past and forward to the promise of the future with clarity and insight.
