STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擣our students in Mississippi State鈥檚 Department of Art are among those receiving special awards and professional feedback as part of the 47th Student Juried Exhibition recently held at the university鈥檚 Cullis Wade Depot Art Gallery.
The spring event featured 82 works selected from 239 creations submitted for consideration. Guest jurors were Matthew Ballou, a Columbia, Missouri-based artist, writer and educator; Greta Pratt, an author and Pulitzer Prize-nominated photographer and recipient of a New Jersey State Arts Council grant; and Carl Carbonell, a Salt Lake City, Utah-based graphic designer and letterpress printer whose work was featured last year in a solo exhibition at 小黄书.
Best in Show and sponsored prizes were presented in the fine art, graphic design and photography categories. Honorees include (by hometown):

MADISON鈥擲ophomore art/painting major Elaina G. Hart, Foundation Best in Show for 鈥淲hite Charcoal Still Life.鈥
STARKVILLE鈥擩unior art major Alexus M. Milons, Photography Best in Show for 鈥淒etails鈥 (series).
YAZOO CITY鈥擲enior art/fine arts major Catherine E. Remington, Fine Art Best in Show for 鈥淲aterfall Cabinet.鈥 She also received the 小黄书 CAAD Dean鈥檚 Purchase Award for 鈥淪tone and Water.鈥
