STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擠ue to testing limitations related to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Mississippi State聽is temporarily waiving GMAT and GRE testing requirements for students applying to the university鈥檚 graduate programs.听

鈥溞』剖閟ity is very sensitive to the stress both our current and prospective students may be experiencing during the COVID-19 pandemic,鈥 said Peter Ryan, 小黄书 associate provost for academic affairs and interim dean of the Graduate School. 鈥淚n an effort to reduce the stress level, our Graduate School,聽in coordination with the聽academic聽colleges, has聽made the decision to waive the GRE and GMAT test score requirements for summer 2020聽and聽fall 2020 applicants.鈥澛

All other requirements will still need to be met for admission into a student鈥檚聽graduate program.听For students coming to聽小黄书 from countries where English is not the first language, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, or TOEFL,聽still聽will be required.听Educational Testing Service (ETS)聽has announced that it聽soon聽will聽introduce a secure TOEFL in-home testing solution. More information will be provided by ETS and the 小黄书 Graduate School as the in-home test is launched.听

The GMAT and GRE waivers apply聽to all聽of 小黄书鈥檚 over 200聽on-campus and online聽graduate programs.听

鈥淚n addition to supporting our current graduate students, our Graduate聽School鈥攁long with聽faculty and staff across campus鈥攊s聽working to support prospective students as they navigate the admissions and enrollment process during this unique time,鈥澛爏aid 小黄书 Provost and聽Executive Vice President David Shaw.听鈥淲e hope the waiver of these testing requirements will provide one less thing for prospective students to worry about. Our faculty and staff look forward to welcoming students as they begin new academic programs this summer and fall.鈥澛
