小黄书 Riley Center announces 2021-2022 Fall/Winter Performing Arts Series
Meridian鈥檚 own Todd Tilghman will kick off the 小黄书 Riley Center鈥檚 2021-2022 Fall/Winter Performing Arts Series Aug. 21 with help from another hometown favorite, the sibling trio Track45.
Tilghman shot to stardom last year when he won the TV talent competition, 鈥淭he Voice.鈥 He calls his style 鈥渟oul country,鈥 a blend of gospel, contemporary Christian pop and country music delivered straight from the heart.
Track45鈥檚 Jenna, Ben and KK Johnson have used the family-based, small-town values they learned in Meridian to build successful careers in Nashville, Tennessee.
Grammy Award winner LeAnn Rimes will perform an intimate acoustic concert Sept. 30. Rimes has sold more than 44 million records and earned many honors, including last December鈥檚 top prize in 鈥淭he Masked Singer鈥 TV competition. Such recent songs as 鈥淭hrow My Arms Around the World鈥 have conveyed her passion for using her voice to help heal those who are hurting.
The Shake & Holla tour showcases foot-stomping Mississippi Hill Country blues and the funky, syncopated sounds of New Orleans brass, and it鈥檚 coming to the Riley Center Oct. 1. The North Mississippi Allstars (featuring brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson), Grammy-winning Rebirth Brass Band, and Mississippi blues guitarist, vocalist and drummer Cedric Burnside will play separately as well as collaborate throughout the show.
Love, loss and creation will merge in unexpected ways as Manual Cinema presents its thrilling version of the classic Gothic tale Frankenstein on Oct. 28.
American musical master Bruce Hornsby will explore his latest album 鈥淣on-Secure Connection鈥 and other favorites during a Nov. 6 performance. Please note that tickets for this performance will be sold separately and are not part of the season package.
Easton Corbin鈥檚 distinctive Southern baritone will fill the Riley Center when he performs Nov. 18. His songs and live shows reflect the passion for traditional country music that he developed while growing up in rural North Florida.
A holiday show full of joy and love awaits Riley Center visitors on Dec. 11 when Gospel Music Hall of Famer CeCe Winans comes to perform. Winans and her husband Alvin Love II are pastors at Nashville Life Church in Tennessee. She has always applied what one critic called her 鈥済lorious, octave-spanning voice鈥 to gospel music in all its variations.
The Fall/Winter Series will conclude with a special performance featuring American music masters Sam Bush, Mike Marshall and Edgar Meyer joined by George Meyer. Their Jan. 29, 2022, show will include works from the 1999 genre-bending album 鈥淪hort Trip Home鈥 (which featured Bush, Marshall and the elder Meyer), plus new music written for this tour.
Ticket prices vary per show. The series offers a range of season-ticket options that include discounted prices and other perks. If subscribers lose or forget their tickets, the Box Office will issue duplicates on the spot. With a simple phone call, subscribers also can arrange to leave their tickets at the Box Office for friends, family members or clients.
