Contact: Addie Mayfield
STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擣ifty-three Mississippi State students are 2021-22 members of the university alumni association鈥檚 liaison organization.
Founded in 1980, Alumni Delegates serve as key links between the 143-year-old land-grant institution and its more than 155,000 living graduates. Helping improve the student body鈥檚 understanding of the alumni association鈥檚 role and purpose also is among their major goals.
Over the decades, the volunteer group has assisted with organizational programs and activities, including football tailgate gatherings, class reunions, free in-state tuition drawings, and numerous other on- and off-campus events.
Members are selected each year through a highly competitive interview process. This year鈥檚 group, consisting of 27 returning and 26 new members, was chosen from over 345 applicants.
