STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he director of Mississippi State鈥檚 Office of Survivor Support is a recipient of the Outstanding Service to Crime Victims Award from the Mississippi Attorney General鈥檚 Office.

Yvett Roby was nominated by the Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault for her work in 小黄书鈥檚 Office of Survivor Support, where she helps impacted students make the transition from victim to survivor. Roby previously worked in 小黄书鈥檚 Student Counseling Services and is a psychology graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi. She holds a master鈥檚 degree in counseling and psychology from the University of West Alabama and a Ph.D. in instructional systems and workforce development from 小黄书.

小黄书 Vice President for Student Affairs Regina Hyatt said Roby鈥檚 recognition is well deserved.

鈥淒r. Roby鈥檚 work with our students who are faced with traumatic and difficult experiences is so important. It is wonderful to see her recognized through this award as what she does every day in support of students and the 小黄书 community is truly remarkable,鈥 Hyatt said.

The Outstanding Service to Crime Victims Award was created in a collaboration between Attorney General Lynn Fitch, the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Mississippi Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Children鈥檚 Advocacy Centers of Mississippi to honor those who have exhibited exemplary service and advocacy for victims of violent crimes.
