STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擫os Angeles-based indie pop band Saint Motel brings its distinct sound to Mississippi State鈥檚 amphitheater Thursday [April 20] at 9 p.m. as the headliner for Old Main Music Festival. Rain location is Lee Hall鈥檚 Bettersworth Auditorium.

Described as 鈥渁lways on the cutting edge,鈥 Saint Motel has gained a loyal fanbase since its first success in 2015 with the EP 鈥淢y Type,鈥 a top-10 Alternative radio hit that became certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

The band didn鈥檛 let go of its momentum and in 2016 released the full-length album 鈥渟aintmotelevision鈥 and the hit single 鈥淢ove.鈥 The song was featured in the video game . Saint Motel released 10 virtual reality components to each song on the album, sending the band into music history as the first to release an entire music collection with a virtual reality experience. The VR version was followed by an augmented reality adaptation, also a music first.

The group has performed nationally on the Coachella Music and Arts Festival mainstage, at Chicago鈥檚 PIQNIQ alternative music fest and others, while also touring with such well-known bands as Imagine Dragon, Weezer and Panic! At the Disco. Nationally televised appearances have been on NBC鈥檚 TODAY, ABC鈥檚 Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and CBS鈥檚 The Late Late Show with James Corden, among others. In 2021, the full 鈥淭he Original Motion Picture Soundtrack鈥 album was released after debuting in two parts in 2019 and 2020.

Joining Saint Motel are supporting bands the Seratones at 6:30 p.m. and Shovels and Rope at 7:30 p.m. The night is an eclectic mix of music sounds with the Seratones鈥 soul rock and Shovels and Rope鈥檚 traditional folk, rock and roll, and country rock.

Along with non-stop music that begins on the local stage at 12:30 p.m., food trucks and an art market with about 15 vendors open at 3 p.m.

The day-long event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Music Makers Productions at msummp@gmail.com or call 662-325-2930. 小黄书鈥檚 Center for Student Activities is at 662-325-2930.
