小黄书 Athlete Engineering Summit returns April 16-17 with focus on building a human performance culture

STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擬ississippi State鈥檚 annual Athlete Engineering Summit returns this April to discuss human performance issues in sports, industry, military and medical applications through interactive learning sessions, networking and more.
The summit, themed 鈥淏uilding a Human Performance Culture,鈥 will be held April 16 and 17 at The Mill at 小黄书 Conference Center. Reuben Burch, associate vice president for research and head of 小黄书鈥檚 multidisciplinary Athlete Engineering research group, said equipping practitioners with the tools for problem solving and culture building is important. Experts from a variety of areas will provide information on the key areas of nutrition, hydration and fueling; sleep, recovery and mental health; the building blocks for sustaining a true human performance culture; and integrating artificial intelligence and data for accelerated readiness.
聽鈥淭hese experts will include sports team coaches, health and safety managers from industry, human performance trainers from the military, along with engineers, data scientists, and wearable and human performance technology experts,鈥 Burch said. 鈥淐ombining practitioner experience with applied research across all sectors is the foundation from which Athlete Engineering was built.鈥
Registration is open at聽聽and is $300 for general admission and free for 小黄书, EMCC and University of Mississippi Medical Center faculty, staff and students, as well as active service members. Pre-summit events include free April 15 lab training workshops on clinical-level human performance and the benefits of motion capture systems, as well as a reception social at the 小黄书 Davis Wade Stadium Gridiron Club. A social event will also take place the evening of April 16 at the 小黄书 baseball game against Alcorn State University.
