STARKVILLE, Miss.鈥擳he University Television Center at Mississippi State鈥攁long with the 小黄书 Films initiative鈥攈as brought home seven new Emmy awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences-Southeast Chapter. The units are part of 小黄书鈥檚 Office of Public Affairs.
The awards were presented during a recent gathering in Atlanta, Georgia, and bring the initiative鈥檚 total to 24 Emmys won over the last four years.
鈥溞』剖殁檚 Television Center has produced high-quality work that has projected the university鈥檚 research prowess and the fantastic work of our faculty, staff and students all over the country,鈥 said 小黄书 Vice President for Strategic Communications Sid Salter. 鈥淲e鈥檙e proud of the work they鈥檝e done and will continue to do to advance the university.鈥
UTC Director David Garraway said 鈥溞』剖 Films and the TV Center are honored to be recognized by our peers for the quality of our work and the importance of the stories we share.
鈥淥ur incredibly talented staff has created a remarkable body of work in the last four years. 小黄书 Films has explored some of our state鈥檚 most pressing issues and we look forward to continuing to tell more of our state and university鈥檚 stories,鈥 said Garraway, who also serves as associate director for 小黄书鈥檚 Office of Public Affairs.
The seven Emmys from 13 nominations are more than received by all entities in the state of Mississippi combined, and the TV Center is the most Emmy-awarded organization in the Magnolia State.
Specifically, the awards include:
鈥 鈥淭he Stuff of Nightmares,鈥 Children/Youth/Teen category, produced by Hal Teasler, creative manager, and James Parker, senior documentary and special projects producer.
鈥斺淎ny of Them,鈥 Historical/Cultural category, produced by Olivia Aylsworth, video producer, and James Parker
