С���� senior kinesiology major Logan Locke of Starkville, a member of С����’s Army ROTC program, models the special Adidas “Statesman” uniform that the С���� football team will wear for its Nov. 17 game against the University of Arkansas. The uniforms pay tribute to С���� alumnus, World War II Veteran and former U.S. Rep. G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery. Unveiled during a press conference Monday [Oct. 29] at the Montgomery Center for America’s Veterans at Nusz Hall, the uniforms are inspired by the Mississippi Air National Guard C-17 Globemaster III plane named “The Spirit of G.V. ‘Sonny’ Montgomery.” Montgomery served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1967-1997 and was author of the Montgomery G.I. Bill.
