Biological sciences majors Sterling Dews, left, of Hattiesburg, and Ruth Lindsey, of Smithdale, carry a painting to their residence hall. The new freshmen are among approximately 2,200 students participating in New Maroon Camp this week. Others moving to campus this past weekend are participating in band camp and other activities kicking off the 2024-25 school year. Students will continue to arrive on campus next weekend during in advance of classes beginning Aug. 21.
